A beautiful secluded spot down at the Turon River.
If you like to camp just metres from the water, and have as much space as you need this is the place for you. You will need to have everything with you as there are not many facilities at the campsites, but that’s what you have your trailer for! Sites are not allocated so first in best dressed.
There is something for everyone here. Let the kids run and ride their bikes around the spacious camp ground while you sit back with your feet up. If you can go without a toilet in walking distance then head over to Woolshed flats campground to escape the business and have some peace and quiet as this campground is usually not as busy.
Unfortunately due to drought the River can be a bit low, but take you cossie and you might be lucky enough to cool off in the beautiful shade of the river.
If this style of camping isn’t for you, or your car is not suitable for these roads, head down to Turon Gates. You will get all the creature comforts of a flushing toilet, hot shower, and outdoor sinks with hot running water for your dishes. Sites are not allocated and there is no power, so pick your spot and set up where you like.
If you want a scenery change for the day, Mudgee is just over an hour drive and you can sip some wine or find some fantastic food.
